The untimely death of 6-year-old Gracelynn Vick rocked the sleepy town of Saucier, Mississippi, on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Her corpse was found next to the family home following a six-hour search that involved volunteers, emergency personnel, and local officials. Investigators say it’s too early to say whether foul play was involved, and an autopsy is being conducted to find out the cause of death.Vicky Lynn Hutcherson, Gracelynn’s mother, has suffered three terrible losses in recent years. Gracelynn’s 17-year-old brother, Larry Hart, died of a medical ailment in July 2021, and her 13-year-old sister, Victoria, died in a vehicle accident in March 2024.
The community has come together to give prayers and support to the bereaved family. Grief counsellors are available at Gracelynn’s school to assist pupils in adjusting to the death of a classmate.
